But the strange thing is that the interface below the search box only display up to three search suggestions, the first of which is completely the same with the keywords you enter, that you can only see two new keyword search suggestions.

Google has just launched its encrypted seach form (SSL) at https: / / www.google.com/ , as a way to avoid third parties access to our search research, for example, when using unknown WiFi networks.

For the time being is in beta and not all the options available by the normal form are offered but gradually will be added. The results did not vary, plus they are still compiling data search, so the searches can be slightly slower than usual since it takes time to decrypt the data.

To know that we are in the SSL browser, Google has added a lock icon in their logo and the “s” for secure connections typical “https.”

Ever wondered how does the Google search really work? Google now has a special page which briefly explains how the Google works with ADS and search results. The new page includes vides from Matt (and he’s got hair now) that explains what happens when you perform a search in Google and submit the search form.

He also explains that the search query could possibly take 1.2 milliseconds but behind the scene there are several Google server’s involved.

Here is a video by Matt on How the Google Search Works.

Google real-time search is already live… Yes it is … According to Google, “Relevance meets the real-time web”.

About 2 months ago, we reported that google is going to bring realtime search soon. Now after, 4months Google on late on Friday afternoon, U.S. Western Time, announced that they are now releasing the personalized search, personalized search for all users. Although, this was seen by many as the biggest single change made to the search results, it so seemed that very few noticed anything at all.

The news was hardly highlighted at all. Perhaps because of the date but perhaps also because many of us who spend much of our time trying to analyze what Google is doing already had become used to Google rarely produces the same results for two different users.

A few who thought it was a bit strange that Google did so little fuss on the issue. Little did we know that this was a tiny little change compared with what would be presented today … Google was not only personally, both with regard to your geographic location and search history and choice of sökresutat, but also to its timing. Now, Google now gets updates from various services such as Twitter, Facebook pages, MySpace, Identic, Jaiku … and not to forget in real-time!

On the Google blog, Google says:

Our real-time search enables you to discover breaking news the moment it’s happening, even if it’s not the popular news of the day, and even if you didn’t know about it beforehand. For example, in the screen shot, the big story was about GM’s stabilizing car sales, which shows under “News results.” Nonetheless, thanks to our powerful real-time algorithms, the “Latest results” feature surfaces another important story breaking just seconds before: GM’s CEO stepped down.

If you want to see real-time search, first look, here it is:

Techcrunch compares Google’s realtime search to the speed of light .

“Light can travel around the world in 1/10th of a second, and we won’t rest until the speed of light is the only barrier to getting good search results to you,” Singhal noted. You can find some screenshots, videos and more information on the techcrunch post here.

Google Search Solution, Google India has launched the SMS search service, where you can SMS the Google number with and get results back via sms.
The sms costs you (Rs 2 or whatever is the rate for national sms for your provider). This is a big+ because you dont have to pay for premium sms as you would have to do if you used other shortcodes.

How do you search? The number to remember (or to add to your contacts) for google search is:

9-77-33-00000

Send your query as sms to this number and you will get a reply containing the results. Here is a sample reply which you would get if you search for “weather delhi”. There are special searches for trains, cricket scores and similar stuff. You can find some example queries and other details on the google mobile page.

It is now easy to restrict your Image Search results to find images which have been tagged with the CC licenses, so that you can find content from across the web that you can share, use, and even modify. Searches are also capable of returning content under other licenses, such as the GNU Free Documentation License, or images that are in the public domain.

To filter by CC search, go to Google’s advanced Image Search page and select the options you’d like in the “Usage rights” section.
If you author a blog on Blogger, Google has built a search gadget for you that does this – the AJAX Custom Search gadget creates a Linked Custom Search engine that automatically updates to allow your readers to search your blog’s entire neighborhood. It is a uniquely flavored search experience that gets richer over time. Search results appear inline, so your users don’t have to leave your blog to search for the results.

Custom Search enables anyone to create a tuned search experience that’s contextually relevant.

For example:

* Individuals can create a personalized search experience around their bookmarks, blogs, and public web sites
* Web site owners can provide Site Search
* Publishers can provide search across multiple publications
* Communities can collaborate to create topical search engines across thousands of web pages

On Blogger, you can add the gadget with a couple of clicks:

Edit your blog’s layout (Page Elements tab)

Click on “Add a Gadget” and configure the new “Search Box” gadget.

While this isn’t available as option in the advanced settings, you can use e.g. “imgcolor=green” or “imgcolor=blue, red” as parameter right in the URL. Setting the option to “blue”, for instance, shows images for your keyword which are mainly blue.

Example:

House: http://images.google.com/images?q=house

Blue House: http://images.google.com/images?imgcolor=blue&q=house

Or, you could use the form below to search and see how its done!

Black
Blue
Brown
Gray
Green
Orange
Pink
Purple
Red
Teal
White
Yellow

In order to search for images mostly from a color, you need the URL of the search string only the parameter imgtype & COLOR = Append. Currently, as far as i known, 12 colors available: [red, blue, green, teal, purple, yellow, orange, pink, white, gray, black, brown]
