After the China – Google attacks, Google has taken measures, that the attack won’t happen again by ditching Microsoft OS.

Google has informed its employees to use of Microsoft operating systems in the future for security reasons. Apparently, after the attacks of China, who got into Google’s systems by exploiting a bug in Windows, Google has decided to stop using the MS Windows.

They say that any Google employee who wants to use a Windows PC has to ask for special permission says Google employee:

Most no longer use Windows. It is an effort on security. Many people have moved from PCs to the Mac OS, especially after the attacks from China.

Google says it is comfortable with systems like Mac or Linux. Microsoft is a competitor to Google, so it might make sense to pay less for Microsoft licenses, while Windows insecurity is advertised. On the other hand, Google promotes Apple and Linux, who is also a competitor. Others see this step behind the upcoming launch of Google’s own OS – The Chrome OS.

The truth is that the strong competitor in operating systems is Windows, not Apple. Not many people will switch to Apple because Google does not think that is safer, but many will stop using Windows.

For the time being is in beta and not all the options available by the normal form are offered but gradually will be added. The results did not vary, plus they are still compiling data search, so the searches can be slightly slower than usual since it takes time to decrypt the data.

To know that we are in the SSL browser, Google has added a lock icon in their logo and the “s” for secure connections typical “https.”

The cars which drive around in many places photographing the streets of the world for its StreetView service. Google acknowledges that is has been collecting personal data submitted by individuals via the unsecured wireless networks, and the data was collected by mistake by the Google cars. It was during an audit conducted at the request of German authorities about securing data collected by the street view car this flaw was discovered.

“It is now clear that we have collected in error with sample data via Wi-Fi open”. ‘Once we became aware of the problem, we fixed our Street View cars and isolated data on our network, we then disconnected to make them inaccessible’

“The team of Google engineers worked hard to earn your trust. And we are highly aware that we have failed miserably in this case. We are deeply sorry for this mistake and are determined to draw all possible lessons “, said Alan Eustace, vice-presidents Google engineering on thecompany’s official blog .

In total, Google estimates the amount a total data of600 gigabytescollected since 2006. Google also issued a letter, you can view it here.

In filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Form 10-K, Google lists 10 major competitors – Microsoft and Yahoo topped the competitors list. However Apple seems to be left out.

In 2008 & 2009, Google only listed two major competitors – Microsoft and Yahoo. And now in 2010, Google lists 10 major competitors starting from Microsoft, Yahoo on top of the list. This is not surprising, BUT the surprise is that, Apple actually was not listed on the chart.

Here is a list of ‘Top 10 Google competitors’:

1. Microsoft will be (Bing)
2. Yahoo
3. Amazon
4. EBay
5. Twitter
6. Facebook
7. Yelp (Business Review website)
8. Monster.com (Human Resources Job site)
9. WebMD (medical information site)
10. Kayak (travel website)

I wonder whats going on between Google & Apple

Yesterday, rumors spread that Google acquired PDF Reader – PDFMeNot is false news. But in the same day Google carried out a takeover of DocVerse created by 1 of the two former Microsoft employees.. Docverse is an real-time Office plug-in that allows you to work together within outlook.

DocVerse would be similar to Google Docs and Zoho. This web-based collaboration tools, with the world’s most powerful document processing procedures for most users to integrate Office can provide in the Office where the real-time sharing and editing functions, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents. It is the biggest advantage is that you do not need to re-learn new ways of working exclusively as a seamless plug-in work in the Office Lane.

Although DocVerse do not use Google Docs as a real-time integration of the back support of the plugin.

Google says:

People are still accustomed to using desktop software, so this acquisition will help users in their favorite desktop software, where most familiar experience of cloud services.

Two former Microsoft employees wrote on the DocVerse official blog,:

We believed strongly that the world of productivity and collaboration was changing. The world started moving toward easy-to-use web applications, like Google Docs & Apps, offering a new way to work with all kinds of benefits. However, for the many people who use desktop software, like Microsoft Office, transitioning to the cloud was a challenge. Unfortunately, today, individuals are still forced to make a choice between those two worlds. Even worse, teams who use both products find that Office and web applications do not play well together; most times, teams choose one product or the other. Google’s acquisition of DocVerse represents a first step to solve these problems.

Currently, you cannot create a new account, but you can still download their Office plug-in, and create an account for the first time use.

It looks like Google will hit most of the Microsoft foundations in 2010 – including, Microsoft Windows and Office packages.

Picnik online photo editing tool was acquired by Google, the terms of the agreement have not been disclosed yet.

Picnik is a fast, fun, easy to use and powerful set of photo editing tools for editing, sharing and printing images using any internet browser on any computer platform. Picnik is integrated with a wide variety of websites like Picasa Web Albums, Facebook, Flickr, Yahoo! Mail and Photobucket. With Picnik, you can edit your photos wherever they are from wherever you are.

Picnik uses Flash technology, and Google’s Picasa online photo editing services are using lower rate of Javascript technologies. However, Google is using its Native Client technology to enhance Javascript code execution speed.

Picnik was founded in 2005, the first name of the company Bitnik, about 20 employees. Google has also announced the acquisitions on the official blog.

As we all know, Google home pages has not changed much for a long time. This time, Google engineers and web designers spend a lot of effort to edit the home page to make it look better and load faster.

Here are the suspected – leaked screenshots of the new Google home page. The pictures show that the settings and more Google options have been removed. The Google logo is more vivid than compared to the current Google home page.
The new – future Google search page is divided into three major sections. Google Labs has developed real-time search, personalized filter settings and so on will be provided to users.

Google – The Californian Company has submitted its draft to the fast network to provide Internet access at speeds over 100 times greater than that of normal provider uses, up to 1 gigabit second.

According to the initial plan, after close agreements with various local authorities, the American fast network could reach a number of people ranging from 50,000 to 500,000. The reason for Google to put its hand into this field would be the company’s desire to provide a true high-speed network and developers to see what they can create thanks to the enormous amount of bandwidth.

From the Blog, Google says:

Our goal is to experiment with new ways to help make Internet access better and faster for everyone. Here are some specific things that we have in mind:

* Next generation apps: We want to see what developers and users can do with ultra high-speeds, whether it’s creating new bandwidth-intensive “killer apps” and services, or other uses we can’t yet imagine.
* New deployment techniques: We’ll test new ways to build fiber networks, and to help inform and support deployments elsewhere, we’ll share key lessons learned with the world.
* Openness and choice: We’ll operate an “open access” network, giving users the choice of multiple service providers. And consistent with our past advocacy, we’ll manage our network in an open, non-discriminatory and transparent way.
