Happy birthday Google Code. In March 2005, when only 8 API connections were first publicly displayed on Google Code. Now five years later, the figure has exceeded 60. In addition, there are still more than 240,000 open source projects in Google Code to take root, more than 17,000 posted every day, equivalent to one code in every 5 seconds.

Google itself has more than 800 projects listed in it, including Android, Chrome, Chrome OS, and GWT four over more than 1 million lines of codes.

With the approach of Christmas – December, some major companies in the US, especially Google will undergo a “Code Freeze”.

On the Web, there is obviously no business promoting the famous “Code Freeze”, with the exception of one. Well just Google. in recent weeks, the Web giant continues to make news at a pace well above its usual pace, it is only to see the list of news of the week to realize:

* On December 7th: Google search in real time, Goggles launched several new features for mobile application updated, Google Analytics and Google Wave.
* On December 8th: launching the beta version of Google Chrome for Mac and Linux Chrome extensions of Vevo (based on technology from Youtube) and tools for Google Web Toolkit.
* On December 9th: event Chrome extensions gallery in beta, integration of Google Groups in Google Apps.
* On December 10th: Setting up Twitter Support for Google Search, and trying to achieve light speed with google.

There is absolutely no denying that Google’s current activity is unusual, the company is rather accustomed to leave his new features throughout the year. We can afford to advance the idea that the company wants to apply the “Code Freeze” in turn, leading to believe that the news coming weeks will be rather rare. Online Magazine TechCrunch said that this could start today, so expect to stay on your feet when you’re done reading this article (do not panic now ).

Go: A systems programming language, expressive, concurrent, garbage-collected. The search giant released Go, an open-source development language that believes will combine performance with speed, and one that the company probably hopes will reshape the development and software industries in its favor.

Go is based on the C programming family, one of the most widely used programming language trees in the world. However, the twist is that incorporates elements of Python (a preferred development language within Google) and the Pascal/Modula/Oberon family to make faster and more dynamic programs.

Here is a video presentation:

Google made a set of its JavaScript tools open sourced and is available for all in Google code labs. The tool has been used internally in the development of Google Maps, Gmail and Google Docs. The various tools called compilers Closure, Closure Library Closure templates and Closure Inspector are some of the javascript tools which were open sourced.

The compiler is used to refine and optimize JavaScript code. It makes your code run even with slow connections, quickly executed. The closure Inspector helps diagnose covert code and improve the code performance. This is an extension for Firebug.

Library Closure is the Google’s JavaScript library. It is based on the standards and provides application services to JS components and works in different browser. With the closure templates you can automate the build of HTML pages.

There are still no official 64 – bit versions yet, here there are instructions on how to create it. While there are Linux and Windows and 64 bit systems, but it is catching on very slowly. Numerous applications are also designed for 32-bit and have some problems with the 64bit systems..
