The first handset that will come after this purchase will be the Droid Bionic, a next-generation smartphones with technical features that put it in top smartphone at the current market. Here are some of the features, LTE (4G), dual-core processor OMAP 4430 1 GHz with 1 Gb of RAM. The screen is not far behind with 4.3-inch diagonal QHD (960 x 540 pixels), HDMI video output, 8 Megapixel camera with 1080p recording capability and a camera for video conferencing. Moreover capabilities will Webtop. This is the first mobile LTE (Long Term Evolution) with a dual-core processor on the market. The arrival date is rumoured to be in September and obviously runs android Gingerbread or upwards.

Google reader for Android has now been updated for Android system (earlier versions of the reader only supported the mobile version layout). The latest version 1.0.1 is compatible and just made for tablet PC’s.

The styles of menu items are completely similar as the web version, the screen needs to be tilted to the side and the new simplified tablet-ready screen shows a layout for easier content access.

What’s in this version:

1. New look & feel
2. Optimized for tablets
3. The “Mark Previous as Read” button has moved into the context menu; press and hold on an item to use this feature.

It looks the first half of the rumor was indeed true. Google is acquiring BUT not RIM instead, Motorola Mobility for $12.5 Billon. This new acquisition gives Google 706 total patents and patented applications, making Google 317 patents + Motorola mobility 706 in total = 1023 patents richer!

This deal is more about defending the Android platform from patent attacks. For most companies, $12.5 billion is a ridiculous price for patent protection, but remember Google has about $39 billion in cash on hand. With that kind of bank, it could keep shopping.

Google CEO Larry Page said in a blog post on the purchase:

We recently explained how companies including Microsoft and Apple are banding together in anti-competitive patent attacks on Android. Our acquisition of Motorola will increase competition by strengthening Google’s patent portfolio, which will enable us to better protect Android from anti-competitive threats from Microsoft, Apple and other companies.

6 Performance Optimization

This new version was updated on:July 29, 2011. Current Version:2.3.5 and Supports Android:2.2 – 2.3.3. These small improvements, but definitely a must have for good performance on any Android device.

Why the error?

Well the problem is because of the whitespaces in the directory path of folder name Program Files
contains whitespace between “program” and “files” and thats causing the problem

How to fix it?

#1. The First workaround is install in a path (directory) with no spaces e.g. C:\Android\

#2. If that is not a possible, the second workaround is to use the “short path” Windows notation (Command prompt trick), e.g. “C:\PROGRA~1″ either on command lines or in the Eclipse prefs. Remember that the number might change depending on your directories; you can use “dir /X c:\” in cmd.exe to see the exact short path for a given directory..

The developers on code.google.com say that this should be resolved soon and they are working on a patch! Lets hope they fix it soon

Now reports from Techcrunch show that the phone would be releasing for a price of $530.
The details are as follows: It can only be purchased online via Google. Support for the unit will be provided by Google and HTC and T-Mobile contracts govern. A leaked document shows that the price of the phone is 179.99 U.S. dollars with a two year contract of 79.99 dollars per Month, It can also be purchased without a contract, for 529.99 U.S. dollars.

Probably the new phone will be sold at www.google.com/phone (Currently it says – 404 Not found) and the payment would be done through Google Checkout.

More sources say that the actual detail of the device will be officially released on January 5 which is just before the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (January 7^th).

Google announced the acquisition of AdMob. Google will pay $ 750 million for the startup (about € 500 million). Google hopes that admob is a better tool to develop mobile advertising.

AdMob has served more than 125 billion mobile ads (according to the counter on its homepage) across a variety of platforms including iPhone and Android. Clearly, this is a space that’s red hot right now, and while Google already has launched a number of products into it, this deal greatly accelerates the effort.

Google wants to give by both advertisers and publishers with new opportunities and strengthen their own know-how. The Vice President of Product Susan, writes in the announcement that mobile advertising has great potential and still be young. AdMob has shown that one can achieve considerable success in advertising.
